Advice to comply with the regulation on structured products.

Structured products (and/or derivatives) are used by Spanish insurance entities, marching asset or liability flows, to offer more competitive interest rates on life products for its customers.

Due to the plethora of these products during the last years, numerous regulations have been published, mainly affecting these products’ contractual clauses. The most relevant regulation among these is order EHA 339/2007, which has been extended and modified on many occasions, deriving on highly complex regulations. Mazars makes available to insurers and financial institutions interested on restructuring these assets a modular and proportionate approach based on three stages:

  • Initial diagnosis;
  • Review of contractual texts;
  • Advice and support on the restructuring operation.
